Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American journalist. She is employed by ESPN and is a SportsCenter News Anchor. Her first assignment with ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been since the age of nine. This skill helped her to get her first job at Univision, Miami. She worked as a producer for national programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. In 2009, the CBS subsidiary located in St. Petersburg hired her following this to become an sports reporter. In 2009, she moved from Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where she was a news reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. She covered stories about immigration and drug trafficking throughout Texas and Mexico. Also, she was often requested to serve as anchors for the weather and sports. Later, she was anchor and reporter on Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her greater responsibilities. She wrote pieces for sports like the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason games, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. She also produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra as anchor. She was promoted as a sports anchor on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In addition, she served as a sports anchor on Primer Impacto, a magazine program that airs on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collin's parents originally hail from Veracruz Mexico. They eventually settled in Mexico City and she was born there on November 22 the 22nd of November, 1985. There is also an older sibling. She has an older sister. In 1992, her parents separated then shortly thereafter in 1995 she remarried Fabio Fajardo who was naval engineer, who died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. In June of 2006, she spent a week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed at the time. Antonietta who was in high school having a clear idea of where she would like her life to be like, visited Mount Union University to see if the school suited her. The campus was stunning as well as offered the level of education she wanted. Following the completion of her high school education she attended the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU, of which she's a part. They had a very close friendship. He encouraged her to believe in herself and also his love in journalism was a huge influence on her. She, was determined to fulfill his standards and never failed him.
